International Congress Of Women In Industry And Technology, 11 December 2024, Astana, Kazakhstan
The congress was organized by the Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, Women in Nuclear (WiN), Association of Women in the Nuclear Industry, Rosatom. The International Congress brought together experts from 7 countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Egypt, Uzbekistan and Armenia. One of central topics was the using of women's economic potential in the labour market to develop human resources in high-tech industries and expand women's economic opportunities, as well as their involvement in industry, including the nuclear industry. The Congress became a key business venue for developing the cooperation between women communities of nuclear industries of Russia and Kazakhstan as well as other Eurasian and Asian countries.
B. Gül Göktepe participated in the Congress and delivered a talk on “the Environmental & Social Aspects of NPPs”. In her presentation, Göktepe touched upon the increasing power of women in the nuclear sector. She also emphasised that Akkuyu NPP serves as a communication bridge among women in the nuclear field in Eurasian countries.
