TEKNOFEST - Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition September 2-6, 2025, Küçükçekmece İstanbul
TENMAK Istanbul Campus became the site of a Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition as part of TEKNOFEST 2025, taking place on 2-6 September 2025. Presentations were made on the design of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactors (MMR) by 27 teams of young competitors from various organizations and universities in Türkiye. It was once again emphasized that the work of talented young people, who were extremely successful in reactor designs, should be supported with experimental laboratory facilities and research reactor experiments, if an expected major breakthrough as targeted in domestic and national nuclear technology, is to be realized.
The closing program was attended by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Bayraktar, the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Kacır, and the Chairman of the T3 Foundation TEKNOFEST Board of Directors, Mr. Selçuk Bayraktar.
Within the scope of the event, which brought excitement and dynamism to the nuclear sector, a "Memories of Çekmece" panel discussion was held. In her speech at the panel, NUTEK CEO B. Gül Göktepe, drawing on her many years of experience at Çekmece Nuclear, shared her achievements, success stories, and her inspiring advice for young people, describing the TEKNOFEST-Nuclear Energy Technologies Design Competition being held in Çekmece as "THE RENAISSANCE OF ÇEKMECE NUCLEAR"
